University Police Reports: April 15, 1998

INICIDENTS

A male student was arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff's
Department and charged with manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a
dwelling for the purpose of manufacturing marijuana, and possession of
marijuana on 4/8. The student was allegedly growing marijuana in his
apartment.

A student reported that she had received a suspicious note.

A student reported that her art supplies and a ring were stolen from the
Belk Building between 3/6 and 4/8.

Officers found three cars which had punctured tires in the HFR resident
lot. The damage was done between 4/14 at 11:00 p. m. and 2:30 p. m.
on 4/15.

Officers impounded a vehicle for parking on campus with parking
privileges revoked at 6:10 p. m.

Officers cited a vehicle which drove on the grass at Leatherwood at
9:59 p. m.

Officers responded to the 9th floor of Scott where there was a report of
the odor of smoke at 10:32 p. m. A ballast in a florescent light had
burned out.

Officers assisted a student who needed to get his backpack out of a
building at 12:10 a. m.

Officers responded to a report of excessive noise at the rear of Walker
and found a group of female students painting rocks at 12:20 a. m. The
students reported that someone was dropping water balloons from the
5th floor. Officers could locate no suspects.

Officers assisted an RA with an underage drinking incident in Walker at
12:20 p. m.

Officers arrested a male student for DWI, a provisional licensee violation,
and reckless driving at 2:43 a. m. Intoxilyzer results were .06%.

Housekeeping staff reported the theft of 15-20 brick pavers from the
back of McKee at 4:10 a. m.
