University Police Reports: June 23, 1998

INCIDENTS

A male student appeared in District Court and pled guilty to resisting
arrest. He received a 30-day suspended sentence on payment of $100
and costs.

Officers responded to an activated callbox at the Ramsey Center at
11:00 a. m. Officers spoke with campers from the women's basketball
camp. No one admitted responsibility.

Officers arrested a juvenile from the day treatment program in Killian
after the juvenile struck the program director at 11:35 a. m.

Officers responded to an alarm at the math computer lab caused by a
faculty member who entered an adjacent adjoining room not knowing that
it was also alarmed at 3:50 p. m.

Officers responded to a fire alarm at Hoey at 4:40 p. m. caused by line
trouble.

Officers responded to Walker Hall where residents reported the odor of
smoke on the 7th floor at 7:28 p. m. Officers detected odor from a ballast
which was failing in a florescent light fixture. The on-duty Physical Plant
worker also detected a second ballast which was failing in a light fixture
in a restroom.

Officers discovered a defective lock on a door outside the laundry room
at Madison at 10:15 p. m.

SECURITY VIOLATIONS

Forsyth: Mechanical room roll-up door open at 0027.
Moore: SECT door unlocked at 0044.
Stillwell: Greenhouse door unlocked and Door #2 unlocked at 0054.
Nat Science: Door #3 ajar at 0102.
Killian: Equipment room open at 0108.
UC: Door #17b ajar at 0112.
