In District Court in Sylva on March 16, a male non-student pled guilty to
indecent exposure in connection with an incident that occurred on the
jogging trail on November 30. He was placed on probation for 2 years,
may not return to WCU for 2 years, must undergo counseling, perform 48
hours of community service work, and pay $300 in fines and $160 in
court costs.
Officers responded to Scott Hall where two females had overdosed on
alcohol and were vomiting violently at 1:43 a. m. One was transported to
Harris Regional Hospital where she was treated and released.
In connection with an arrest of two male students in Albright for felony
possession of marijuana which occurred on November 18, charges
were dismissed in Superior Court on one defendant because of
problems with the search warrant. The other defendant pled guilty to
misdemeanor possession of marijuana and was fined $50 and cost of
court, probation for 6 months, and undergo substance abuse
assessment.
A student reported that his car was damaged while it was parked in the
Helder Lot between 3/16 and 3/17 when someone poured oil on it and
shot it with paint balls.
Officers discovered that someone had altered a parking decal on a car
parked in the upper Harrill lot at 11:15 a. m. The owner of the car was a
non-student female who was visiting her boyfriend in Scott. The vehicle
was placed on the tow list and a campus citation was issued.
Officers discovered a car protruding into Centennial Drive in front of
Scott at 8:20 p. m. A wrecker was called, but the owner came back and
paid the wrecker driver to release the car.
Officers cited two males and one female in Leatherwood Hall for
underage possession of alcohol in two separate incidents at 9:40 p. m.
Officers responded to fire alarms at Stillwell at 3:56 p. m. caused by a
short in an Exit sign and at the Library at 0910 caused when someone
activated a pull station.
