On 4/26, officers assisted a male student who had been involve in a
bicycle accident.
Officers investigated a hit & run accident which occurred in the Coulter
lot at 2:20 p. m. on 4/30. Witnesses identified the suspect vehicle and
the driver was located and charged with failing to report an accident.
In connection with a continuing investigation, a male student admitted that
he had inadvertently brought a shotgun to campus after hunting in his
home town. He had parked in vehicle in the Methodist Church lot. The
incident will be referred to Student Affairs.
At 1:59 p. m. on 4/30, officers responded to the 5th floor of Walker
where a male student suffered an alcohol overdose. That student was
transported to Harris Regional Hospital for treatment. A male non-student
who was in the same room had been banned from campus on a
previous occasion. That subject was arrested for trespassing. He
resisted arrest and was also charged with drunk and disruptive,
communicating threats, and resisting arrest.
Officers arrested a male non-student who had been banned from
campus because of an alcohol violation in Albright on 4/10 when that
subject was found outside the Ramsey Center on 5/1.
Officers cited a male student for failing to stop at the flashing light and a
provisional licensee violation at 4:50 p. m. on 5/1.
A student reported that someone had damaged the mirror on his vehicle
while the car was parked in the Helder lot between 4/29 and 5/2.
A student reported that someone had entered his room and stolen
approximately 100 compact discs valued at $6100. The investigation is
continuing.
Officers assisted Jackson County deputies in searching for three or four
males in a black truck who followed and threatened a male student from
Sylva back to campus on 4/30.
