University Police Reports: August 20-22, 1999

INCIDENTS

At 4:18 p. m. on 8/20, officers warned a student about the policy on
skateboarding on campus.

On 8/20 between 5:40 p. m. and 10:35 p. m., officers referred 10
students to Student Affairs for alcohol violations in and around the
residence halls: four at Helder; two at Leatherwood;: and, four at Scott.

At 12:56 a. m. on 8/21, a female student reported that she was being
harassed by a male student in Reynolds Hall. Officers counseled the
male student who agreed to leave the victim alone.

At 12:57 a. m. on 8/21, a female student reported that she was
inappropriately touched by a male on the 3rd floor of Benton Hall. The
investigation is continuing.

At 12:34 p. m. on 821, Library staff reported excessive noise from
mechanical units. Officers checked and notified to Physical Plant.

At 8:16 p. m. on 8/21, officers referred a female student to Student
Affairs for an alcohol violation in Helder. At 8:58 p. m., a male student in
Leatherwood was referred for an alcohol violation. At 9:00 p. m., two
male students on the fourth floor of Leatherwood were referred. At
9:20 p. m., one male student on the ground floor of Albright was
referred. At 9:26 p. m, one male student in Leatherwood was referred.
At 9:30 p. m. three male students in on the 3rd floor of Albright were
referred.

At 10:50 p. m. on 8/21, Housing staff reported a strange odor on the 4th
and 8th floor of Harrill. Officers were unable to detect the odor of
marijuana.

At 11:45 p. m. on 8/21, officers responded to the 7th floor of Scott
where a female student was intoxicated and unresponsive. She awoke
when WCU EMS arrived and refused transport. Referred to Student
Affairs.

At 2:36 a. m. on 8/22, officers assisted the N. C. Highway Patrol with an
accident on the Old Cullowhee Highway between campus and Carolina
Village. The driver of the vehicle was a male student.

At 3:30 a. m. on 8/22, officers learned that several vehicles had been
vandalized while parked near the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house at
East LaPorte. The Sheriff's Department is investigating.

At 11:45 a. m. on 8/22, officers counseled a female student who
reported that her car had been vandalized and her purse stolen while
she was attending a party at the Sig Ep house on Saturday night.

At 5:09 p. m. on 8/22, officers cited a male student for reckless driving
and failing to carry drivers' license.

At 8:00 p. m. on 8/22, officers cited a male student for possession of an
altered drivers' license.

At 9:25 p. m. on 8/22, officers referred two students to Student Affairs
for alcohol violations on the 5th floor of Scott.

At 9:50 p. m. on 8/22, a female student in Harrill reported that she was
receiving harassing phone calls from a former boyfriend who is at Mars
Hill College.

At 10:45 p. m. on 8/22, officers cited a female student on the 5th floor of
Harrill Hall for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Baseball Concession: Restroom door open at 2215 on 8/20.
OSU: Door #1 ajar at 0011 on 8/21.
Nat Science: Door #6 ajar at 0034 on 8/21.
OSU: Front door open at 0006 on 8/22.
Camp Gym: Window open at 0012 on 8/22.
Stillwell: Door #7a and 1c unlocked and#1f ajar at 0032.
Stadium: Players gate unlocked at 0123 on 8/23.
Nat Science: Door #2 ajar at 0230 on 8/23.
Motor Pool: Gate unlocked at 0235 on 8/23.
