University Police Reports: August 27-29, 1999

INCIDENTS

At 11:50 a. m. on 8/27, A student reported that her van had been
damaged by a hit & run driver.

At 3:15 p. m. on 8/27, officers responded to a fire alarm in Scott possibly
caused by fumes from students making posters.

At 6:02 p. m. on 8/27, officers interviewed two male juveniles who were
in possession of a bicycle which did not belong to them at the UC during
the Reggae Festival. Officers determined that the bicycles was
borrowed and not stolen.

At 7:15 p. m. on 8/27, officers stored a green back pack which had been
found and left a phone message for the owner.

At 8:45 p. m. on 8/27, officers assisted Housing staff with a black snake
which was found on the first floor of Killian. Officers transported the
snake off campus and released it.

At 3:16 a. m. on 8/28, officers arrested a female student for DWI and a
provisional licensee violation. Intoxilyzer results were .10%.

At 12:45 a. m. on 8/29, officers assisted WCU EMS with a male student in
Reynolds who was extremely intoxicated. The incident is referred to
Student Affairs.

At 8:00 a. m. on 8/29, officers were asked to attempt to contact a female
student about a family emergency in High Point. Officers could not locate
a current address for the student.

At 9:50 a. m. on 8/29, a parent reported that he had not heard from his
daughter since 8/23 and was confused. Officers acquired information
about the daughter's whereabouts and reported that information to the
father.

At 1:30 p. m. on 8/29, a student reported that a window had been broken
from his car while it was parked at Scott Hall between 10:00 p. m. on
8/28 and 10:00 a. m. on 8/29.

At 7:35 p. m. on 8/29, Housing staff reported the odor of marijuana on the
4th floor of Scott Hall. Officers could not detect the source of the odor.

At 9:50 p. m. on 8/29, officers accepted a Cat Card which had been left
at Bob's Mini Mart and attempted to contact the owner.

At 11:55 p. m. on 8/29, officers assisted WCU EMS at Leatherwood
where a male student had lost consciousness. The student was
transported to Harris Regional for treatment.

Stillwell: Door #7a unlocked at 2302 on 8/28.
Reid: Door #2cd unlocked at 2338 on 8/28.
Belk: Door #1c unlocked at 2358 on 8/28.
Motorpool: Front gate open at 0023 on 8/29.
OSU: Door #1 ajar at 0020 on 8/30.
Stillwell: Door #2 ajar and 7a unlocked at 0038 on 8/30.
Niggli: Door #1b unlocked at 0045 on 8/30.
Reid: Door #16b ajar at 0100 on 8/30.
McKee: Door #1c unlocked at 0103 on 8/30.
Coulter: Door #5 ajar and 2b unlocked at 0110.
Track: Gate open at 0145 on 8/30.
