At noon, a contractor from the job site at Forsyth reported a hit & run
accident near McKee. The contractor provided the tag number of the
suspect vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and charged the driver, a
male student, with hit & run.
At 4:20 p. m., officers investigated an accident where a truck driver
knocked down a speed limit sign in front of the Administration Building
and left the scene. The driver has been identified and a report has been
filed. DOT will be consulted about charges.
At 11:45 p. m., a housekeeper reported finding a black plastic film case
containing white powder. Officers collected the material to lab
examination.
At 11:57 a. m., a female student reported that her car had been damaged
while it was parked in the Field House lot between 8/30 and 9/1;
however officers noted that it appeared the vehicle had run up on a
curb.
At 4:18 p. m., officers warned a male student about the University policy
on skateboarding on campus after finding him skateboarding in the
roadway on Centennial Drive.
At 7:40 p. m., officers found the same male student referred to above
skateboarding in violation of the policy. The student had been warned
more than three times. Officers charged him with impeding traffic on a
state citation.
At 8:10 p. m., a student interfered with and officer while the officer was
issuing the citation mentioned above. That student was arrested and
charged with obstructing and delaying a police officer.
At 9:10 p. m., officers investigated a report of narcotics sales on the 4th
floor of Leatherwood Hall. During a consent search, officers found small
amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers drew a search
warrant and found 4.25 ounces of marijuana. The owner of the drug
was charged with possession of a felony amount marijuana, possession
of marijuana with intent to sell, and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose
of selling a controlled substance.
