As a result of a follow-up interview, officers found that a set of hub
caps reported stolen by a male student on 8/26 had been taken by his
friends as a joke and had been returned. The victim did not wish to
pursue the matter and the case is closed.
Officers identified the person making harassing phone calls to a male
student in Harrill as a male student at ECU. The calls were related to a
traffic accident which the caller claims has not been settled. The caller
was instructed by police to call no more and to initiate criminal or civil
action if necessary through local police where the accident occurred.
At 9:15 a. m., officers investigated a traffic accident in the lower UC lot.
At 1:00 p. m. on 9/15, Housing staff reported the odor of marijuana on the
4th floor of Helder. Officers interviewed the residents of one room and a
small bag of marijuana was later found on the ground outside the
residence hall.
At 3:25 p. m., a Physical Plant employee reported that his assigned
vehicle had been damaged by a hit & run driver sometime during the day.
At 6:12 p. m., students reported three vehicles driving recklessly on
Catamount Road. Plate numbers were supplied and the owners
identified. Charges are pending.
At 6:17 p. m., officers attempted to deliver an emergency message to a
male non-student at the racquet ball courts at Ramsey. No contact.
At 6:25 p. m., a male student reported that he had lost his CatCard.
At 8:50 p. m., officers walking through the first floor of Albright reported
an alcohol violation by a male student and referred the incident to
Housing.
At 9:55 p. m., officers conducted a walk-through of Walker Hall based on
prior reports of marijuana smoke.
At 10:05 p. m., officers conducted a walk-through, interviews, and three
consent searches of rooms in Scott based on prior reports of marijuana
smoke.
At 10:20 p. m., officers charged two male students from the 5th floor of
Scott Hall with possession of marijuana and possession of
paraphernalia.
At 11:35 p. m., officers investigated a traffic accident between Harrill
and Benton where a car had rolled from a space and struck another
vehicle.
At 4:00 a. m., officers responded to a report of loud voices outside
Walker Hall. One male student who was intoxicated was transported to
Albright Hall where he lives.
