University Police Reports: October 22-24, 1999

INCIDENTS

At 9:30 a. m. on 10/22, a male student from Walker admitted damaging his
vehicle and the gate at the impound lot after discovering that his vehicle
had been towed. He was charged with damage to real property and
court date is set for 11/23.

At 12:25 p. m. on 10/22, a employee reported that a pay phone in the UC
had been vandalized.

At 3:18 a. m. on 10/23, officers responded to a fire alarm at Hunter
Library caused by a light ballast which malfunctioned.

At 9:20 a. m. on 10/23, an employee reported an alarm sounding in the
library. Officers found that all door alarms had been activated and reset
each.

Between 4:47 p. m. and 5:45 p. m. on 10/23, officers banned eight male
and female non-students from campus for soliciting magazine sales in the
residence halls and at Faculty Apartments with proper permits and in
violation of University policy.

At 1:06 a. m. on 10/24, officers responded to a fire alarm at Benton and
found a female non-student passed out on the floor near in the mail room.
She was banned from campus, but allowed to stay the night with a
female student in Harrill who volunteered to take care of her.

At 2:56 p. m. on 10/24, officers responded to an activated call box in the
Walker A lot and found no one in the area.

At 2:40 a. m. on 10/25, officers assisted Jackson County deputies who
were looking for a female hitchhiker on NC107. Officers found the
subject in front of NCCAT and deputies transported her home.

SECURITY VIOLATIONS

Stillwell: Door #7b and 10 ajar at 0016 on 10/24.
Nat Science: Door #1b ajar at 0014 on 10/24.
McKee: Door #2b ajar at 0005 on 10/24.
Stillwell: Greenhouse door ajar at 0040 on 10/25.
McKee: Door #1cd and 2b unlocked at 0020 on 10/25.
OSU: Door #2 open at 0014 on 10/25.
