At 5:20 a. m., workers at the recycling center on Norton Road reported
two flat tires on their box truck.
At 11:45 a. m., Physical Plant workers reported a sick or injured gray ox
on Central Drive approximately 150 yards past Harrill Hall. Jackson
County Health Department officials asked that the animal be destroyed
and the carcass preserved for testing.
At noon, officers cleared a report of a hit & run accident which occurred
on the Belk C lot on Friday morning. A report has been filed.
At 4:41 p. m., a student on the first floor of Albright reported that his
cellular phone had been stolen from his room on October 29 at midnight.
He saw a white male, approximately 5'8" tall, stocky-muscular build,
wearing a white Furman University had, a baggy-blue coat, and white
jeans leaving his room as he was returning. He confronted the suspect
who ran. He found the cell phone missing on November 1 and reported
the incident then. Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to
call the University Police Department at 227-7301.
At 5:24 p. m., officers impounded a vehicle which was found parked on
campus after privileges were revoked.
At 12:14 a. m., officers responded to a report of a fight on the 3rd floor of
Walker Hall. Several males were involved. One male non-student who
was involved and under the influence was banned from campus. Others
who participated are referred to Housing and Student Affairs for
disciplinary action. Injuries were minor.
At 1:00 a. m., officers stopped a male student who had been drinking on
the 3rd floor of Walker and referred him to Housing for an alcohol
violation.
