A male student charged with indecent exposure in connection with an
incident in Scott which was reported on October 8 was found not guilty
in District Court in Sylva.
In connection with the investigation of a sexual assault which reportedly
occurred in Benton Hall on 11/19, the victim requested that no prosecution
be initiated and that the investigation be discontinued. Investigation
reports have been submitted to the District Attorney for final review and
approval.
At 9:00 a. m., officers prepared a report on an accident which occurred
in the Coulter lot on November 20.
At 11:40 a. m., a female non-student reported that she was struck by a
car while walking near the Walker A lot bridge at approximately 4:30 p. m.
on 11/29. Injuries were minor, but the suspect vehicle did not stop.
At 2:50 p. m., officers responded to a fire alarm at the Bookstore caused
by dust in a detector head.
Officers impounded 12 vehicles for parking in campus after privileges
were revoked.
At 4:04 p. m., Housing staff reported that several vehicles had been
struck with paint balls outside Walker and Scott between 11/29 and
11/30.
At 5:35 p. m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious odor on the
ninth floor of Walker Hall. Officers found only evidence of tobacco
smoke.
At 9:00 p. m., officers and Computer Center personnel presented a
program on computer and e-mail crimes in the lobby of Scott.
