If you were to select one significant reasos why WCU is
already a good place to be a faculty member
      AND
one important change that is needed to make it a better place
for faculty, what would those two things be?
(use the list, or state you own)

The Best Places to Be a Faculty Member

What goes into making a college a great place to be a faculty
      member?

Much of it is not what you see on your college's Web site, but
the unrecognized things that make academic life a little
easier or more interesting. With that in mind, we'd like to
know if you think your institution -- be it a community
college, four-year college, or doctoral university -- is
special in one of the following areas. And if you'd like to
nominate an institution other than your own in any of the
categories, we would like to hear about that too.

Please let us know which category or categories you think an
institution is the best in -- and give a brief explanation of
why. Send your response to facultyfriendly@chronicle.com by
May 5, and The Chronicle will consider making that institution
part of its list of top colleges for faculty members, which
      will appear in June.

We're looking for colleges with the best:

      Environment for adjuncts

      Benefits for domestic partners

      Tuition benefits for faculty families

      Sabbatical policies

Policies for professors who are also parents

      Diversity among faculty members

Pay hikes over the last five years

      Faculty club

      Technology support

      Programs for retired professors

      Mentoring programs for junior scholars

      Faculty governance

      Teaching centers

Cultural offerings outside New York City

      Faculty housing

Special deals for faculty outdoor activities

Dating scene for single faculty members

      Accommodations for faculty spouses

Teaching (as opposed to research) environment

      Faculty traditions

      Atmosphere for postdocs

      Off-campus bars for faculty members

And we're also looking for colleges with:

      The most-unusual faculty perks

      The most politically active professors
