Hi Alan,
Hope this arrives in the Nick (pun intended) of time. For the Summer Institute, here are the 6 that catch me most:
-Course Development - b/c it includes critical thinking, syllabus, and learning strategies in one
-Writing Across Disciplines - addresses many faculty and student concerns
-Developing a First Year Seminar - as we open the floodgates for new freshaman
-Constructing assignments that work for learning
-How students Lear OR (en lieu) Active learning
-Problem-based learning
Also, if I may throw in another possiblity as a suggestion:
"Using and Interpreting Feedback" - or something similar - would be helpful to those of us who amass tons of student feedback regularly, and seek effective ways to decipher and implement that info.
Just a thought.
Plz pardon errors in previous newsgroup message: no time to proofread.
Your Institute ideas sound great! I am excited for round 2.
Happy holidays,
Sarah
