If You Knew Then What You Know Now....?

Hello:
 
I have just subscribed to this list a group of faculty new at Western
this fall. For those of you who have been at Western a little time,
what advice would you have for these new faculty concerning teaching &
learning, research, professional development, enjoying the community,
etc.?
 
And for those of you who are new at Western this semester, would you
introduce yourselves and tell us a little about your background and what
your questions and concerns may be?
