We have isolated the event that started the sluggishness this morning.
SOX (Southern Crossroads) one of our peers, advertised or leaked routes
from the commodity routing table to us. This caused traffic that would
normally go out our Qwest and Level3 connections to try and go out our
SOX connection. That lead to the problems we saw on the rtp1. We are
going to install filters to limit the number of prefixes we can learn
from SOX. We are also going to work with the the vendor to determine why
rtp1 reacted the way it did. If you have questions let me know.
Thanks
